October not so sober.

Many people use October as a "sober" period, not just from alcohol but also staying clear of unfavourable habits. With the silly season (or the Noosa tri) fast approaching we can understand why, but for most of us here at Strides we had celebrations on the mind. October brings our birthday and this year we celebrated eight wonderful years of Making Strides. We also attended an epic luncheon with the Perry Cross Spinal Research Team and witnessed them raise a whopping $170,000, well done on an epic result.

OKTOBERFEST

Eight Years of Strides, we don't even know where to start. Thank you all for making it possible for the last eight years. The love and passion inside and outside the Making Strides walls is infectious and something we all cherish every day. Our party was a night to remember and everyone looked great in their Oktoberfest costumes, the photo booth got some epic shots and we can't wait to see the video to

and re-live the night.

PHOTO BOOTH FUN

Please find all out Photo booth photo's here. As the album goes on, we hope you smile as much as I. One hell of a night, so much fun was had.

How lucky are we to have this type of technology to capture all these beautiful (questionable) pictures!

PCSRF LEGENDS LUNCH

The 4th Annual Brisbane Legends Lunch broke records and raised $170,000. The legends lunch is about bringing people together and it did just that, people came together bided generously on epic auction items and bought "bones". The Perry Cross Research Foundation’s goal is to conduct a Human Cell Transplantation Clinical Trial and restore movement in people suffering with paralysis. The first steps to achieving this are to plan and scope this clinical trial, to ensure we meet all the regulatory requirements. The success of this Legends Lunch event has meant that we have successfully raised the funds urgently needed to begin carrying out this scoping by Griffith University's Spinal Injury Project team and the Contract Research Organisation. Together, we are working towards making the impossible possible. Thank You!

NEW EQUIPMENT

We got an Elliptical. What is an Elliptical you make ask? well.... If you want to feel like you're walking on the moon - this is probably the closest thing you will get without going to NASA. The smooth cyclical pattern paired with reciprocal patterning of the upper limbs gives the feeling of floating while getting a killer workout. Keep your eye out for it in your sessions coming up.

SILLY SEPTEMBER

Wrapping up Silly September with a bang! Clients challenging trainers and trainers challenging clients is what it was all about and wow did we see that! Such an epic month full of hard work and silliness. The fastest client was Shawn and fasted trainer was Ben (who beat Louis ..just). our lucky draw winners were Matthew Thompson and Lindsay Nott!

Well done to the PCSRF who raised $126,191 over SIP week 2021!
