SERVICE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Jack grew up in the small coastal town of Ballina, NSW where he enjoyed an active lifestyle that included golf, rugby union, cricket, surf lifesaving and hanging ten on his boogie board.
Led astray at an early age by his father and grandfather who cut down a set of old sticks to suit the needs of an eager 4 year old, Jack considers golf his original passion. He represented the Northern Rivers District Golf Association, was a Junior Open Champion at Mullumbimby, Nambucca Heads and Surfers Paradise, and scored a hole in one before he was 18.
You will find Jack far from the golf course these days, playing for the Bond Pirates Rugby Union Club after relocating to the Gold Coast and leaving his beloved Ballina Rugby Union Club behind. Like most aspects of his life, Jack excels at anything he gives 100% to, this makes him a versatile player and is able to play any position in the backline. Jack is also very committed to and passionate about strength and weight training, often sharing his knowledge and experience with his work mates and clients outside of Making Strides.
Jack's social nature and love of exercise led him to enrol in a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science with Southern Cross University. Jack graduated in 2013 with a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology and began working in an aged care facility where he implemented a very successful falls prevention program.
Before starting with Making Strides Jack came across some television coverage of spinal cord injury rehabilitation which ignited a desire to work with neurological injuries. Jack’s peaked interest was timely and he found himself applying for an advertised vacancy at Making Strides.
It didn't take long for Jack's talent, leadership and enthusiasm to shine. Now in a management position Jack is using his clinical skills and passion to open funding doors to assist in our clients recovery and wellbeing.
Jack is our resident prankster and self appointed DJ. His many years of experience terrorising his sister Carly has provided him with a bag of tricks that the girls at Making Strides just can’t compete with, often enlisting our more devious clients to assist them with payback pranks here and there.
